Good graphic card recommendation 4 sketchup?

i'm planning to buy a graphic card. i need some recommendations. don't want too expensive. i use sketchup, my highest filesize so far has been 60 mb. maybe could increase more. i also do gaming like NFS hot pursuit. Gonna buy NFS The run too

Heretofore, graphic cards have been designed for either gaming--fast frame generation, or rendering, modeling--detailed image generation. Now, there seems to be a convergence. Cards have been designed that can do both. There are several threads on this forum that discuss these matters. Look in some of the subforums. Perhaps in "Hardware, Software and Gadgets"? Most definitely do some research at perhaps NewEgg, and similar build it yourself sites.
I am not a gamer, nor a hardware expert. Maybe others will weigh in.
Also, do a search at the top of the page for a member named "Brodie" who has some very good insights, among others. -

I have a NVidea GTS450. It is fast, probably mid range in value and function. This is what Dell provided in the system I recently purchased. I recognized that it would be suitable for me. Not necessarily for you.
As I said, I am not an expert in these areas.
Whatever you get needs to support both DirectX and OpenGL. -

From my Windows System Info, it appears that the Nvidea has 1.5GB Again, not necessarily all that you need. However, what you need is tempered by what you feel you can afford.
May I suggest you also do maybe a googlesearch "comparison of graphics cards" which is what I did well in advance of purchasing the system I have.
I do not do very much rendering. I do not do any Nonlinear Editing- which is what video folks do in post processing (and these systems apparently require a lot of horsepower).
However, I find in conjunction with the Studio XPS W7 I7-930 and 8G System Ram, my Sketchup experience has significantly improved from my old XP machine which had another Nvidea card.
