Tufting furniture

I want to start creating tufted furniture in SketchUp. What do I need and where do I get it?

To be honest, tufted or overstuffed furniture is one of the hardest things to model in SketchUp. Personally, I'd prefer to model a person rather than a complex tufted sofa....much less infuriating.
Eric has linked a very nice tutorial of his (and he's a master at this kind of thing) but it's one thing modeling an ottoman, but quite another modeling a comfy chair or sofa which may well curve in more than one direction simultaneously. I have done this kind of thing myself...

...but it's something of a nightmare getting all the tufts at the correct orientation. It's even more difficult getting those creases that stretch from one button to another on leather furniture.

As in Eric's tutorial, you would be advised to use the (commercial) subdivide and smooth plugin...or its big brother Artisan .

This kind of effect (below)...with all its irregularities...can realistically only be achieved by the use of a customised image, carefully mapped to the tufted mesh.

Thanks for the advice. I probably stated what I want to do wrong, I just finished creating my great room to scale, which is in a "old library" style (it has a zillion trim pieces on the walls and getting them all to fit took me a few months, but I learned a lot. I now want to put our furniture in (I am trying to show my husband that a desk will not fit or look right) but I don't want stick furniture. I want our chairs and sectional to have the correct curves and the cushions to be rounded. So, now what plugins do I need and where can I find them.
