How to save a view?
-
I am working on a design with moving parts that has several scenes (SU8). The series focuses in on a specific area of the model in various stages of parts motion. I want the view to remain stable from scene to scene so the only things changing are the parts that move, not the entire model. After the scenes were established, I decided to correct a few problems that animation revealed. Among these was a decision to group some parts. In order to see the other parts in the group, I have to view "extents." That changes the view, losing the stability of the model in the scene. I am trying to find a way back to the original zoom factor and orientation of the modified scene, but if I just click on the scene, the parts that I grouped remain so, but some of them return to "hidden" status as they were prior to my modification. The blue outline of the group is initially visible, but I can't seem to find a way to edit the group to restore visibility of the hidden components. If I right-click, the group outline disappears leaving the only un-hidden member of the group off screen.
So, is there a way to save a view without creating a scene. Panning does not appear to be a function that can be constrained to an axis or given a dimension (e.g., red axis 3", etc.). I'd like to save a customized view that I could return to, which then allow "updating" of the scene in the animation. -
Go back to your saved scene (
!important
). Now turn on hidden geometry (view menu) and those hidden groups will show up. Now you can right click and unhide them. Now click on your scene tab and "update" it.
