Hmmm? I'll check that out Pete, I'd rather find an off shelf product.

@Jason - thanks mate!! The chalk board effect was fun!

Very nice render Richard, is that Maxwell Render?

I also like the chalk board effect...

        Thanks for sharing,

I had a look Pete, they do have something similar, though not as funky. Could be just a personal thing. Thanks for the eyes up though I'll go and check it out.

Thanks mate! No, chose sky dome just for easy setup (sans light panels).

it's just that i'm waiting on a render at the moment using the physical sky at 15 mega pixels it's kinda slow even on my 12 core beast lol. What sort of benchmark does a scene like this give ? Ps there's no feet on the sofa 😉

Yeah the sofa is rough up.

Mate I just let it run over night to SL 19. 6 cores. Chedda mate open the scene in Studio and save the physical sky you have set up as low res HDRI in the environment panel and then use that as IBL all channels. It's quick. Go for say 400 x 200 res for the illumination channel. Should tear through.

Sounds like a top tip there Richard thanks, i still see noise at SL 19 after 27 hrs but it's a big image, it's showing a 630 benchmark .I previously noticed that hdri illuminated images render out a lot quicker. I think i'll sit this one out as i've spent about a week making adjustments to the modelling. I'll post it here in a couple of days lol (it's another Mies homage)

I bought these (http://www.cubit-shop.com/en#2) a few months ago. I don't know if they ship to the other side of the world though.

I've occasionally thought about cube bookcase pieces, as surely have many others. I have seen some for sale but always more than I wanted to pay and my need was never immediate. Sorry I can't point you. Perhaps this thread could be a place where ideas and models of these are shared. As simple as they are, there are a few details, as you know: some key to alignment, perhaps cutouts for carrying ease, sizes (24" US), joinery... Like life, plywood ain't cheap.

That's a nice system mate!!!!! I think it's cost given aimed at very jumbled arrangements rather than constants would make it high!

Yeah Brooke I think we all have too! It's an obvious, like the idea of carrying. I thought about the idea for the book shelved units to have a recess all round so the stacks of architectural mags I've got could be easily moved, or stored stacked.

And you're right - doing anything with timber and lots of it costs bundles.

Mate great stuff there, that is exactly what I want! I'd actually like the PP storage for the office and timber setup for living. Thanks for posting the link mate!

Simplicity. There is, of course, some duplication of structure and material inherent in a modular system like this but the flexibility warrants it, I think. Here we have just a few pieces, the only essential one being the 16x16x16" cube, a 'no-waste' dimension based on US plywood size of 48x96". Base and top are optional, attachment blocks are made into a visual contributor (?). Inside face countersinks not shown!
