So...if I build something, I either give it away or charge for it. If I work for somone, I volunteer or have somone pay me for my work. If I create a piece of music, I either post it for all to enjoy or charge. Why...because it takes my time and energy, my sweat and blood. My time is taken away from playing with my children, loving my wife, hanging out with friends and given to making something with my creativity, my hands, my intelligence for the benefit of another. Because something is in a digital format, the world does not have the right to distribute it freely. Common resources should have equal access (water, food, etc), products (programs, etc)should not, unless the developer decides. I work for my family, to put food in my 4 and 1 years olds mouth and soon my newborn. If you steal what I make, you steal the food from their mouths.I would have no problem suing you or having you put in prison. And, true, I have not ever download music, video, ruby scripts, burn a cd etc. It's unfortunate that so many in this world think that they have 'rights' to whatever they want. If you want it, become intelligent, create it yourself.

Give the kid a break, everyone pirated something atleast once in there life time. xD But ye if you like and find it usefull, pay for it, sooner or later. I understand that many kids might not have the cash or the means to pay (e.g parents refushing to use there credits card). So if your one of the kids, remember to say a thank you to the developer by paying for it, when your older.
Think of how lucky you are that you wont be having to pay 4000 for zbrush or something.
