Show interior shadows

Hello all
I am new in sketchup and I wanted to know if I can see the shadows that are inside the house that I created.
In Ecotect I can cut away section and the shadows do not effect from that.
Can I do the same in sketch up? Like taking of the roof and see how much sun light I get inside?Thank you

Apply a completely transparent pgn material (see one attached in the model below - save the material file for later use) to a ceiling or any section cut face in SketchUp. It will cast a full opaque shadow.
