How to fit diamond patterns into circle nicely ?

my friends likes to make a present to cut diamond patterns into steel, but he doesn´t find any suitable technique how to do it
would you be good enough please to share your valuable experiences or tips to create a few samples?

I see you have already shown the patterns to be used to achieve a better distribution and visual aspect ,what do you find hard to make ?
Here I tried a couple of patterns and it seems that it looks better !

outer edges, where diamod patterns are crossing are awful (i posted and marked as odd effect )
