awesome! just an observation, I think that the perspective of background does not coincide with that of the house, the lake is higher than the horizon line, I think you should choose a point of view slightly higher.

Hello fabiorossi, I noticed that before I posted but was too lazy to re-render. So I drained the lake, see image below and it still looks wrong! the perspective is out, the house needs tilting.

Daniel, thank you. Regarding textures, there's millions on the net, "Flickr" is a good start but a lot can be found here in the resources section. I always alter textures before rendering them. I've been looking at books on Windsor Castle today, there's so many! but I will get there. "professional working for ILM" lmao I wish! it's just me in the kitchen.
numbthumb, thank you. The Heidelberg link is great, I've spent hours looking through, so much to take in it's easy to get lost.

I can't even imagine the time it would take to make this in 3D inside and out. But what a model if some of the top drawer artists on the forum gave it a (collaborative?) try. -

Your first link is especially interesting for the plates which are of very good quality and downloadables and then offer a good documentation to work on ..

@tadema: IMHO it couldn´t possibly end up shoved somewhere on your HDD. I am pretty much convinced that anyone should be more than grateful to lay his hands on such a model of mammoth proportions and render it.
