Awkward Corner

Hey there,
Currently in the process of building the SU model for a university project and have hit a bit of problem.

I was wondering if somebody knew a more elegant solution than deleting the triangular bit an 'stitching' the each segment of the circle manually. It does fill the gap but is very messy and i'm hoping to render this model in 3DMax, so the the simpler the better.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.Thanks in advance

May I make the suggestion that you post the model if possible into your reply as a .skp file?
In the meantime, I am assuming you want a rounded edge continuous on the top perimeter? Or, is the object in the background an idea of the finished item?
Maybe elaborate a bit on what you need. I see several possible interpretations to your request. -
If I understand what you need, it looks like a simple matter for Fredo's Round Corner plugin, or even just plain old "Follow Me"
