            I'm not too sure...

This is a very good counter-argument of what's really happening on Wall Street by Brendan O'Neill on Canadian Calgary-based radio station QR77

Brendan O'Neill - What is "Occupy Wall St." Movement All About?

            http://www.qr77.com/station/Episodes.aspx?PID=1022

This is really worth a listen if you've got the time, because it highlights many of the contradictions within the events happening. It certainly made me think. (Interview starts at about 12.40).

This guy on the radio says very much like did others guys of the left wing in Spain when the movement explosion. Not to worry. They accuse and call teen mainly because they do not have responses.
Oh well, which have been their responses during all these years? = Zero

Another "election year" spleen-venting session ... Sure, there needs to be change. But that change comes from electing people who will represent the will of the electorate. It takes legislation to change the situation in this country, not protest marches. 😒

The OWS situation also typical of Americans (of which I am one). We enjoy the good times when they happen (the '80's were incredible) and we don't pay much attention to the downside. Then, when the crunch comes, we blame the very system that provided us with the stuff we enjoyed before.

                Cheers.

I agree about the radio. There is no answer to many problems mentioned, but only a try to discredit movement. And I think all agree about the these problems. It is important to ask questions, which is the beginning of giving answers.

                    For instance don´t you think
                    that interest
in money transactions is proving us all that it is not a natural thing to do ?

and here the word natural becomes really from NATURE ¡

So how does one fix it? I'd run for president. I wouldn't be a good one by certain measures, but I'd be an honest one. But who'd vote for me? We say we want change, but in the end, its virtually impossible to actually effect change. So how do we fix a broken government? We don't like the people we've elected to govern us. But it seems impossible to replace them with who we want for some reason.

I heard yesterday that President Obama had likened to Gordon Brown! (ie has gone all silent on America).

But does a president have to be a showman? And why does it matter so much? Can Obama just be left
to get on with his job? I remember when Reagan (Raygun) got in for a second term. Some American republicans
were interviewed on why they were voting. One replied that they "liked his hair"!!
Is that a good basis to vote for someone? 😕

We said that Labour were broken (which yes I suppose they were? But at least they were still spending money.
Okay not on important things (like R&D), but at least they were investing something). But who have we in power now? A coalition
government who got in by the 'skin of their teeth' ie such a low voting turnout- no one really cared. Now it's
cuts cuts cuts, and probably the highest unemployment figures for 17 years.

If you don't vote, the 'little man' will get in. Just like he almost did in France a few years back. Do you fancy the
idea of a bunch of Klansmen in office? 😲 Heavens forbid!

There's nothing really wrong with the principle of capitalism, it's just this present capitalist model, the one we have
now which is wrong. But It's not going to be a revolution that will change that though, it will be debate- kind of like what we are
                          doing now. 😄

To the citizens of the United States of America from Her Sovereign Majesty Queen Elizabeth II:

In light of your immediate failure to financially manage yourselves and also in recent years your tendency to elect incompetent Presidents of the USA and therefore not able to govern yourselves, we hereby give notice of the revocation of your independence, effective immediately. (You should look up 'revocation' in the Oxford English Dictionary.)

Her Sovereign Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will resume monarchical duties over all states, commonwealths, and territories (except Kansas , which she does not fancy).

Your new Prime Minister, David Cameron, will appoint a Governor for America without the need for further elections.

Congress and the Senate will be disbanded. A questionnaire may be circulated sometime next year to determine whether any of you noticed.

To aid in the transition to a British Crown dependency, the following rules are introduced with immediate effect:

                            1. The letter 'U' will be reinstated in words such as 'colour,' 'favour,' 'labour' and 'neighbour.' Likewise, you will learn to spell 'doughnut' without skipping half the letters, and the suffix '-ize' will be replaced by the suffix '-ise.'Generally, you will be expected to raise your vocabulary to acceptable levels. (look up 'vocabulary'). (I love that one)

Using the same twenty-seven words interspersed with filler noises such as ''like' and 'you know' is an unacceptable and inefficient form of communication. There is no such thing as U.S. English. We will let Microsoft know on your behalf. The Microsoft spell-checker will be adjusted to take into account the reinstated letter 'u'' and the elimination of '-ize.' ' (I love that one too)

                            1. July 4th will no longer be celebrated as a holiday.

                            2. You will learn to resolve personal issues without using guns, lawyers, or therapists. The fact that you need so many lawyers and therapists shows that you're not quite ready to be independent. Guns should only be used for shooting grouse. If you can't sort things out without suing someone or speaking to a therapist, then you're not ready to shoot grouse.

                            3. Therefore, you will no longer be allowed to own or carry anything more dangerous than a vegetable peeler. Although a permit will be required if you wish to carry a vegetable peeler in public.

                            4. All intersections will be replaced with roundabouts, and you will start driving on the left side with immediate effect. At the same time, you will go metric with immediate effect and without the benefit of conversion tables. Both roundabouts and metrication will help you understand the British sense of humour.

                            5. The former USA will adopt UK prices on petrol (which you have been calling gasoline) of roughly $10/US gallon. Get used to it.)

8.You will learn to make real chips. Those things you call French fries are not real chips, and those things you insist on calling potato chips are properly called crisps. Real chips are thick cut, fried in animal fat, and dressed not with catsup but with vinegar.

                            1. The cold, tasteless stuff you insist on calling beer is not actually beer at all. Henceforth, only proper British Bitter will be referred to as beer, and European brews of known and accepted provenance will be referred to as Lager. New Zealand beer is also acceptable, as New Zealand is pound for pound the greatest sporting nation on earth and it can only be due to the beer. They are also part of the British Commonwealth - see what it did for them. American brands will be referred to as Near-Frozen Gnat's Urine, so that all can be sold without risk of further confusion.

                            2. Hollywood will be required occasionally to cast English actors as good guys. Hollywood will also be required to cast English actors to play English characters. Watching Andie Macdowell attempt English dialogue in Four Weddings and a Funeral was an experience akin to having one's ears removed with a cheese grater.

                            3. You will cease playing American football. There are only two kinds of proper football; one you call soccer, and rugby (dominated by the New Zealanders). Those of you brave enough will, in time, be allowed to play rugby (which has some similarities to American football, but does not involve stopping for a rest every twenty seconds or wearing full kevlar body armour like a bunch of nancies).

                            4. Further, you will stop playing baseball. It is not reasonable to host an event called the World Series for a game which is not played outside of America . Since only 2.1% of you are aware there is a world beyond your borders, your error is understandable. You will learn cricket, and we will let you face the Australians (World dominators) first to take the sting out of their deliveries.

                            5. You must tell us who killed JFK. It's been driving us mad.

                            6. An internal revenue agent (i.e. tax collector) from Her Majesty's Government will be with you shortly to ensure the acquisition of all monies due (backdated to 1776).

                            7. Daily Tea Time begins promptly at 4 p.m. with proper cups, with saucers, and never mugs, with high quality biscuits (cookies) and cakes; plus strawberries (with cream) when in season.

                            God Save the Queen!

if it were up to me, personally, to rally the people..
i'd suggest that nobody sends money to the IRS next april.. i mean, we complain about all these crazy salaries and/or bonuses for the banker ceos and whatnot but where does the money actually come from? it comes from us.. our labor. basically 3 months of our work year is for nothing other than making a small handful of people very rich.

our income tax isn't being used for bettering the country (education, infrastructure, healthcare, etc.).. it's being used to pay off interest to the federal reserve (private banking institution).. i.e.- they put $1 into circulation but we have to pay them $.25 to use that dollar.. unfortunately for us, there isn't actually enough money in circulation to pay off the debt so we pay it via labor (in other words - slavery)

so yeah, I'm pretty sure i could say to someone "you're stupid and brainwashed! but you don't actually have to pay taxes".. and they'd oblige 😄

pretty much everything i own and/or use is along the same lines.. me personally getting rid of the stuff isn't going to change anything.. i'm at the bottom of the barrel.. it's the people/corporations/banks at the top that need to go..

Starting this December, the Fed will be monitoring Facebook, Twitter, and the broader web to gauge public response to economic policy. "A great industrial nation is controlled by it's system of credit. Our system of credit is concentrated in the hands of a few men. We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated governments in the world-- no longer a government of free opinion, no longer a government by conviction and vote of the majority, but a government by the opinion and duress of small groups of dominant men." -- President Woodrow Wilson
