i should have explained that the model was created to test conflicting lighting environments between an illuminated inside and daylight.

what you see in the model is actually the total model....just a simple box with a courtyard as the focus and the principle source of daylight

nice concept, I can see an idea, but I think that the design need some improvement (for practical use).
Is that the highest quality that Twilight can produce in this case?
Is this interior style typical for nowdays interiors in Australia?

          Hi jarynzlesa,

these are rendered on my laptop which is quite slow, but the results are quite ok under the circumstances....however, much better results could have been achieved if i had let the render run for a few more hours, or better still if i had an i7 which would have afforded me many more passes and in less than half the time...!!

Nice work Gareth. A good showing of what Twilight can do. I think there are far too many lights on in the house for as much exterior light is coming in. Perhaps two renders are in order. One toward the evening with the lights on and one during the day with mostly exterior and a few fill lights illuminating the scene.

Awesome design though. The courtyard is very cool.

            hi Earthmover,

long time no see...!!....actually i haven't been in here for a long time until recently

i agree with you, perhaps a few too many lights, but one of the reasons for having most of the lights on was to test the speed of the render settings as a result of having so many lights on at the same time

i'll see if i can find another render i did with just the wall lights on

Bryan....thank you, you are perhaps a little too kind, but i appreciate it...!!

....it isn't that anyone told me they were unworthy, it is more my opinion because i struggled to get the result i was imagining....when time permits, i'll learn a little more and try again....!!

the guys at Twilight have been very helpful with their advice and suggestions, and there are a few ideas i should experiment with

Those last two are great Gareth. Much more natural lighting. πŸ‘

Jaryn, can you explain the concerns about render quality. You can set a render to Metropolis light transport with by directional path tracing and let it render for up to 10,000 passes for a week or more. But at that particular workflow what concerns do you have with the render in question. I am all ears and ready for a learning moment.
