Scale model render for my block / house
-
I've had this block of land vacant for about 25 years and still don't know why I bought it, well I do it was $20,000 with nice views, but still scatching my head - SO STEEP! So i'm refreshing original sketches and progressing with a design.
Here is a quick model scale render to spark my creative juices and restart design work. 55 steps from parking to door!

Very nice Richard. Looks like a challenging lot but I think you're on your way. Maybe you need to plan an elevator or a funicular to get to the front door.

Thanks Dave - I have a way around the access though will ensue a legal battle. The incut for parking shown at the bottom exists though is meant as the start of the driveway for the lower block on the right, a longer cut in driveway in front of the block on the upper (left) side is actually meant for my block though the neighbour has built a carport on it and claimed it informally as his access. The carport however is illegally built on council's land.. The legal battle is one yet that I may take up!

I would make the hill house.

After studying cave houses in Spain, I like SRX's idea.

I'll be following this, as I love australian architecture, BUT...that's not so steep, check this out, it could be worse:

I too admire Australian Architecture. Check one of my Favorite practices. http://www.basearchitecture.com.au/index.php?page=gallery&id=46 -
Ha - Thanks guys for the ideas, I've got to be a little realistic on the costs as money will be borrowed and as we know banks will only lend on valuation! That Bondi cliff edge home with land is probably in the $5-10 million range - I've got to stick in the $350-450 thousand range. Could blow half of that in excavation into hard rock!
Yeah there are some brilliant examples of Aussie Architecture! So many stunning homes around to be drawn too!
@ Stefanq. Mate the site is actually really steep in comparison to most - image doesn't do justice, meant that way otherwise I tremble!
Holmes - I too love difficult sites, literally all my work is on difficult ones! Though most designs I've done for such and luckily not as frequently now have been for higher densities like this one below which did my rubics cube head in!

I like!
