Make Grid Plugin

does anyone know of a plugin that makes grids on a surface?
i am thinking of options like size x,y... and whether the grid is centered on the surface, justified left/right/top/bottom, or offset by a specified amount...
this would be really helpful for creating ceiling grids.
any suggestions are much appreciated. thanks!

Somewhat biased reply, but you could try crosshatching. http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=38637
if it's edges you want. Only work on planar faces.
