New to SU
-
hey guys im veilaince
ok so i started SU recently and was really lucky to get a run down thru its basic commands etc and been playing around for about a week n a half so i have been on it about a mont now... really awesome program but i got a whack load of plugins and keep seeing new ones so atm im like a lil kid who has walked into the wall mart of candy stores
would love it if some one could let me know what are a good set of plugins to start with as i would be primarily designing homes and gardens for landscapers etc
i had a quick squizz through the tutorials but i dont know where to start also all the video tutorials are a heavty strain on my bandwidth only got like 1.5 gigs per month

My advice is to start using SketchUp, and try to do as much as you can without plugins, for as long as you can, so that you learn what the program can do (which is a lot). Then, once you are familiar with it, you can browse the plugins and better understand exactly what they do and how they can help you. Try out a few that will help you save time, and then try out a few to solve specific problems that you may have.

yea i did that for like 3 weeks which was ok and all but what im really lookin for is advice from maybe an architect who does 3d design for homes etc and has a nice set of starter plugins i dont mind researching on how to use em as so far i have started fiddling with rendering working from digital plans working from plans i have in paper just drawing my SU model accordingly i have also started using keybinds ( shortcuts) for a alot of stuff now so basically all i use my mouse for is selecting end points really helps but i was wondering if there was a window maker plugin that can make a complete window i tried out windowizer but it creates only the front face atm im making a copy then joining it up with the line/rectangle tool but i dont know mayber there is a better one that i can use that will save me alot of time etc
btw alot of great and awesome tutorials here
