Have been trying to learn upholstery with sketchup. 😆
For the curves i used ruby script Surfacegen.rb.
      Not rendered, yet.

I'd like to learn to do this too!
Could you add a little "how to"?
        😄

          Hi KarinaGM,

          Below are two images.
The first shows the Icon to press to activate Surfacegen.rb and
that is the equation and other settings I used in the SurfaceGen Options.

The second is how i stretched out the surface diagonally.
This was rotated with the mover tool.
And the rest is History. 😄

Here's the formula for a cushion or seat cushion.
The next one that follows is a round cushion.

Thanks, I'll go and get this plugin and try.
One more question. What did you do for the corners? Shape bender? I guess not

That's what I discovered when I went to download the plugin.
I won't be able to use that one!!!
                      😢
Is it too late to learn?

Here is a picture with the steps that are followed to make
a round edge. I used round corners and the icon is circled.
The settings are pointed out in red.
Its starting to look like Spider Man's suit. 😄

last week i had a similar task... in a quick sketch for a shop i had to visualise a upholstered piece of furniture, of course with curves. i decided to use a picture as the texture, since it was only shown half in the picture and it was just one small detail. worked out well in the picture. unfortunately i cannot show the full picture due NDA, but i guess it is safe to show the furniture.

                                  gesteppt.jpg

do not look to close at the far upper left corner, there is something going on with the texture 😉
