Long time ago I played with these file types. But now I was asked about importing dxf or 3ds objects into Skletchup, but with textures. Is there an option for importing the textures too?

can you export that dxf/3ds as Collada or wavefront obj ? this two file formats can be imported with texture in sketchup.

A 3ds should automatically import with textures...although it is probably wise to have them in the same folder as the mesh file before import. I'm not sure that the SU 3ds importer bothers with stuff like material paths.

I wasn't aware that a dxf could have textures. All the ones that I've ever seen have just been vertex coloured. That's certainly the way they are exported from SU.

@dereeei - I was asked how to import in Sketchup with textures. These files are only in dxf and 3ds.People are often lazy to change their ways πŸ˜‰
