Well hello....

Hello everyone,
Just signed up but have been prowling through these forums for a few months now (ever since I started my new job ) and thought its best time to sign up and introduce myself.
Well i have a degree in Multimedia Cartography and Geographical Visualisation and for the past 3 years i was an Associate Lecturer at RMIT University (Melbourne) Now working in the industry I guess my official title is now "Multimedia Cartography and Spatial Graphic Communication Specialist" bit of a mouthful, still dont know if this will stick but it probably best explains what I do.So with this new role have been doing a lot of SketchUp work and I must say this forum has really helped me out a lot so a big thankyou to everyone.
Use Podium for renders but hopefully will be getting v-ray very soon, produce photomontages with the aide of SU and Photoshop and pretty much use SU for wahtever I can.
So once again hello everyone and I will see you all in and about the forums

Hello and Welcome...

Hi and welcome
It would be very interesting to see some of your projects, and how you use SU in your profession!

I would love to share some of my work and inlighten some of you in the way that i use SU however due to the nature of my job, the majority of projects that i work on have some form of confidentiality and i actually cannot share them until they are made public by my clients
Once they are public i will try and link through their location so that you can all have a quick look though.for a quick run down i pretty much use SU to make a base model and get my perspective right, export the image and then photoshop part of the 3d model into an existing photo so that you can get an idea of what the landscape will look like once said project is build. wheather it be buildings, train stations, dams, mines, rail lines pretty much anything. Thats just one way that i use SU.
The other way is to make conceptual type models that are rended out using podium (hopefully v-ray soon though)
