Roof Garden
-
This is from a roof garden I have been putting together for a public housing project . The garden will be on the roof of a 3 storey office building with an apartment block above it. Some of the renders have worked better than others but on the whole I am pretty happy with it.

Looks great. I love roof top gardens.

Forgot this one - hot, hazy, summer day kind of thing (well that was the plan anyway - really just used a darker yellow sunlight and upped the red a bit in PS to make it all feel hotter). I am pretty new to rendering and have been trying to get some different effects going. Have tried to do a night shot with lighting for this garden but have failed dismally. Will try again later.

Very nice. Well done.

Cheers. Now, being a public project I just have to wait about 10 years for it to be built

Just thought I'd add these. This is the first time I have done a full lighting job on a landscape and am reasonably happy with the results. Rendered with Twilight/no PP
-
Ohhh. Very nice!

Very nice renderings. Where did you get those plants? I could really use some 3D ones to add to my collection. Also what is that rendered with?
-
how does twilight compare to podium? That looks really good, and if anyone can link me to those plants I would appreciate it

Some of those plants look like plumeria trees. Very nice. No need for wind screens? Can't tell you about the roof gardens rendered useless by the wind. I also don't care for decks adjacent to apartments, takes too much effort to maintain. But the garden is definitely a plus feature for public housing. Nice work.

the plants are from a bunch of different places. The plumerias (yep they are)are from Formfonts http://formfonts.com/which is not free but is amazing as are most of the other trees. THe other stuff comes from all over the place a couple from here probably http://solosplace.com/3Dgarden.aspx from 3d warehouse and of course some I have made myself

So is formfonts worth it? Looks like a pretty good deal. I was looking at dynascape but the price is crazy at $700 for the first year and the plants don't really look very photoreal but looks like a good selection. 2D face me plants are good for trees but 2d low plants don't look so great... Anyway I really like what you used and I'm looking to expand my plant collection.

$700??? wow that's nearly as much as my computer. Formfonts - Is it worth it? For me, I don't use 2d stuff at all because I do walkthrough/flythrough things for everything I do and they look weird for that so high quality 3d plants are kind of neccesary.

Formfonts looks good and I'll probably get it but still the selection alone is far from sufficient. Where else should I look?
