Best File Type to Export as for CNC Cutting?
-
Hello guys and gals,
I have designed a kiosk that I plan on having all the parts cut by a CNC Router. Any advice on the best file type to export it as? I know EPS doesn't export to the proper size and scale. Thanks in advance.
Cheers,

Jeff, it would probably be a good idea to find out what software and file types the specific CNC machine uses to determine what you want to use for your export. Some CNC routers use proprietary software and may be able to convert SKP files directly or the link might be a DXF/DWG file out of SU.

DXF if you can figure out how to do so (I can't). Most CNC machines can read or import DXF's.

Great! Thanks you guys.

Jeff, Sorry to come in a little late here, but actually the best type of file for CNC is .STL (Stereo Lithographic), which is the industry standard, not necessarily DXF/DWG. (although some routers do read DWG, but they tend to be of the very high end type)
