Models Surrounding Environment
-
What are some ways to make your model NOT look like it is floating in space or is the only building in the world. Is there some sort of generic building populator that can make the neighborhood/surrounding environment. I am looking for a suburban neighborhood but any suggestions would be great.
Thanks in advance. -
This is a render of a model (the car, and the person), that is placed on a photo. Sorry, I do not have the Sketchup image, but the principle is the same.
Insert a photo behind the model from SketchUp Windows > Styles > Edit, then select the icon with "ok" on it. Add the watermark, and select the menu options. With a building, you may have to model foreground elements. -
It has to do with whether you are modeling for a single rendered view, in which case, image backdrops would be the way to go, or if you plan to make multiple scenes, this may require actual modeling of the surrounding elements/ buildings.
It's all about file size economics. -
I often just guess in the surrounding buildings from site photos and google aerials...doesn't take much time since detail isn't important just form.
