Poznan

SCF is very international, perhaps someone here has info? We're visiting for a few days on business and staying near the Old Brewery. If anyone here is from the area or knows it well enough, are there any must-see sights that we should make an effort to go to? We have walked to the old city square, that was good to see - lots of architectural interest there. We are without a car, but are not adverse to public transport or hiring a cab if necessary. Just FYI, we have our child with us and a stroller, so no disco...

Oh well, nice place indeed. I was first there when I was 16 - hitch-hiking with a friend around Poland for a month. (I would not dare to let my kid do this nowadays).
Sorry, I am not a local so hopefully someone with better knowledge of the discos can chime in.

Unfortunately I don't know Poznań well. I have been there twice.
What I recommend is Ostrów Tumski ("Cathedral Island" between two branches of the river Warta), if you enjoyed the Old City.
The cathedral is the place of burial of the several Polish kings, starting from the very first Mieszko I (since 992).A stroll along Warta river may be also nice if weather permits.
Here is a page you will find more info in tourist attractions tab.
Have a nice stay!

We paid a visit to the island, very nice to see. A good walk to get there. Spent some more time at the attractive old square and at Stary Browar. That's an impressive and well designed mall by any standard. Almost a steampunk-like design, gave me some inspiration for SU! These seem to be the highlights of Poznan, the city seems more business like than historical. Not too much for the tourist All the same, a good visit.
