Doors/Windows Cutting opening in dble wall
-
I'm trying to create a door component that will automatically cut an opening in a wall (double faces). I can create a door component that cuts an opening in a single face wall. Is this possible or am I chasing my tail? If the former, can someone point me in the right direction?

Hi Steve,
You are right; this is how SU works. Components have only one gluing/cutting plane (defined by their red/green plane) therefore they cannot cut more than one face. There is a plugin though in which you may be interested (or use workarounds like placing a "counter-component" on the other side of the wall).

Thanks, I kinda thought so. I'll take a look at that plugin.
If Google is listening, it might be advantageous to have an "anti-matter" property we could assign to a (sub)component (3D volume) which would punch a hole (similar to a solid boolean subtraction). This might be very useful in making smarter components.
Thanks again,
Steve
