No, I am using it now and does this plugin provide a way to render images prior to put them in object2vr? As I saw all images created just for using nonrendered images movie??
As using cubic pano plugin, 6 scenes created automatically and rendered all of them and put in pano2vr for rendered movie. I find this way is so simple and get fast result because I am not familiar with animation yet!
Any vid tut around of this plugin to understand easier?
          Thanks Didier

Thanks Jim for sending a link of full discussions of this topic dated back years ago I will check to see that relates to mine.

              hgdn,

What is the product you want to render?

Are you going to use HDRi for lighting?

24 renders might be too few for a smooth result, I'd say at the very least 60 is needed.

Thearender is what I am interested in now but I don't know enough it yet, specially animation!

Yes, using HDRi for scene render

To render 1 scene takes at least 1hr or more depending on what size....as you said to be good smooth quality outcome required at least 60 renders...take up a couple days to finish, breathless omg!

A couple of days is unfortunately not uncommon. Rendering does take a bit of time, and if you multiple frames to render, then it really gets crazy.

Lately you've been tan, suspicious for the winter.

Nah, you can run it BSD, I just completed a 12 minute animation in less than 4 hours. For what you are doing (product rotation) I'm sure you can set it up to render fast.

Want to share the model and I will take a look and give a better idea?

Yes really crazy as the file getting bigger and longer required a massive effort and patience. Thumbs up for all amazing 3d design render movies done and posted on youtube!

Let me set a quick scene up and render 120 frames, give me an hour or so and I will show you.

I cannot exhibit my clients project so I'll use one of my cartoon characters instead.

                          Okay, done.

Here is the final low resolution animation as well as a video of the making of it.

                          Hope it helps.

solo that a great tutorial. Another option in Thea would be rotating camera around the target, but it's up to scene if this is a viable alternative to turn table. Rotating the camera does allow cache reuse and even faster rendering, as only camera is changed (not the scene, like with the turn table).

                              Pete/hgdn,

I am really, really interested in this because I have just been commissioned to do a big project to provide virtual tours and "fly-over/around" scenes. Since I've never done that before I had to get smart really quick on software and techniques (nothing like pressure to motivate learning πŸ˜„ )

Since I'll be using both SU models and photo panoramas, for virtual tours I've settled on the following:

                              For SU models:
                              John Wehby's cubicpanout.rb
                              Thearender
                              GoCubic

                              For photo panoramas:
                              object2vr
                              pano2vr
                              PTgui

For SU models I'm using cubicpanout.rb, then Thea and, finally, GoCubic. I tried using pano2vr for the cubicpanout output, but have not yet figured out what settings to use for a "non-overlapping" set of pictures. But GoCubic works fine.
The big deal here is that nige generously clued me into Kerkythea scripts that allow me to do "automatic" BSD rendering of multiple scenes from cubicpanout.rb in Thea. You just run the script and walk away and let Thea do its thing for however long - but you don't have to be there while it does it (e.g., overnight).
I then put the rendered scenes into GoCubic.

                              For fly-around/overs
I was going to use flightpath.rb and the follow the same workflow in Thea, but...
Pete, I know you asked me months ago if I'd be doing any animation in Thea. At the time I didn't foresee what I'm doing now. Now I'm very interested in learning how πŸ˜’
Anything you would care to share on how that's done would certainly be appreciated.

I never thought about the cache reuse, yeah, makes a lot of sense, the above rendered at 8 seconds per frame BSD (that's uber fast)

That is exactly what I am mentioning. I got the idea how it is done in Thea now after watching your vid tut instruction. This rotation application can be used for showing a big building layout with smaller rotation scene angle to get a better quality, isn't it?

Thanks so much for spending time to help as you are busy with your own too!

I've tried to embed my flash movie now but it is a bit tricky task!

I'm looking for some software to create panorama's (made from LightUp images- can be cubic, panorama, single strip) that my clients can view in a web browser (swf / html5 / whatever). Before I go buy something like http://ggnome.com/pano2vr, anyone has a good suggestion for a program you used recently for this?
