As an ex-pat Australian I thought I should point out for the foreigners hereabouts that a Dunny could be referring to a great piece of quality Australian architecture.
Many a student has been shattered by the intricacies of designing one.
Few get it right, but those that do go on to greatness.
LOL Ben....!!....that is a fine example of an Aussie dunny....i have no idea what the others are trying to do, other than to blaspheme our precious amenity
-
Nice work guys.
Oli I'm guessing that is you playing with Thea?
Pete, I love the weathered ones. Is that done in Thea? Is it using displacement and is the background a hdr?
-
A couple more.
-
Thea
-
thats more like it eric, nicely done!! did you map the displacement map in sketchup or all within thea?
where are the tuts for displacement? there don't seem to be many advanced material tutorials...dylan, yes...thea.
-
bravo pete ....that's displacement with the rock?? it looks real. I'm surprised there's no hairy dunnys yet!!
A simple one "in all the colours of the rainbow"!!
thea render
emitter for middle one: 180 watts/metre squared...efficiacy:30.00
glossy material for glass dunnys....absorption value 1.00...high reflectance....roughness 1.00
soft reflective floor.....roughness 10.....IOR 2.00....high reflectance
Studio IBL to reduce dynamics and increase "fill light" set to 0.01 strength. -
All in Thea. I just exported the blank model from SU.
I just imported the grass displacement texture pete posted and applied it. I could not figure out how to scale the grass up so I scaled the model down and got it to look right. Increasing the Height (cm) value did not seem to do anything
I have not found any displacement tuts other than what people talk about when they post a material.
Thanks to pete...

-
Sorry you are having computer trouble Victor.
