Plz help - fixing IES file? - can't remember where or how
-
Hi folks,
Not very long ago I read a post from someone who didn't get his IES data to work. Sadly I don't even remember which renderer he used.
He solved the problem himself by editing the IES file.
Obviously I am in the same need now, but I can't for the life of me remember where I read it.
So far I searched SCF (also Vray sub), Twilight and Thea Forum until I got a bit dizzy.Maybe someone has a better memory than mine, or even knows how to find mistakes in IES codes...
...thanks in advance

Hm, I can't really help, but wouldn't it be a solution
to re-create the ies with eg. "free ies creator"? -
Thanks for the reply Sir,
i thought of that too, but I did not dare to take that road yet, because I have like a hundred light fixtures to mount.
Just now I thought it could be possible to find the error by reproducing only a few... Ill have to look into that.
btw, the files from IESgenerator do mot render in Twilight, but General Electrics has a good free application that works for me.
thanks again

Alex,
Try this.
http://www.photometricviewer.com/meanwhile, I will try the other IES creation program to see what your issue might be.
Don't forget - if you post any issue on Twilight's forum, they are VERY responsive and helpful.

Perhaps you can post a sample of those IESgenerator IES files that wont work?

Thank you guys, good to have you alongside. It is just that with all text codes/scripts I'm a total noob.
I am trying to use the IES files provided by Martin Lighting at http://www.martin.com/productgroup/productgroup.asp?pg=martinlight
What is clear now is that the IES data is simply incomplete. The entire values for candela distribution is on zero.

Looks like I have to send a request to Martin directly.
Althoug I got one file from the architectural fixures to work, none of the headmoving fixtures seem to work...
.....get back later, have an appointment
