GoogleEarth v6 coming out
-
I am sure this is a belated topic.
GoogleEarth v6 was announced on CNN. With a long distance interview with a GoogleEarth spokesman.
New features available shown on http://www.gearthblog.com

I wonder if the topo data is tighter and available on version 7 of SU?
-
Maybe login to "Earth-u-cation" and get a quick and friendly answer?

The available data has nothing to do with the version number. It is permanently updated but always just a small part (and you never know ahead, which part).
-
well there was supposed to be a difference between the google earth data that SU7 brought in and the data that SU8 brought in... SU8 was supposed to be tighter.
-
Only as tight as available(even without zooming completely in). About 80-90% of the Earth still has rather crappy data both in imagery and in terrain and users in these areas will not notice any difference between SU 7 and 8 (except the dandy, colour image already projected onto the terrain so ready to "modify").

Many of you receive a SketchUpadate Newsletter. It is irritating that the first, seemingly 'the most important', information was: @unknownuser said: Most folks who use SketchUp are also fans of Google Earth, so I thought I'd let you know that there's a new version available.
We wound rather appreciate an info when SU8 Maintenance release will be ready.
