SU to GCode anyone?
-
Has anyone found the express lane for this process yet? Would like Sketchup to 'Save As' gcode.
-
This isn't just a simple export problem- there's lots of thinking that has to be done to get tool paths and such. Rob Bell at Zomadic (http://www.zomadic.com/) would be a great place to start, though. He has written some Ruby that flattens a SketchUp model and preps it for cutting on a ShopBot.

His work is great and it is everything I am looking for EXCEPT that it outputs ShopBot instead of gcode.

There is a Shopbot to Gcode converter out there, but what really needs to happen is we would like to be able to do all the pocketing and archs and fold lines( not cut all the way through) right in sketchup.

I have tried several times to unzipp and put the folders into the SU7/plugins folder with no success. I am not getting a new tool or any dialog box in Plugins menu. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
-
Sean, it is not clear which of the discussed extensions you are having trouble with.

Root canal, pain medication, need I say more? The Zomadicam plugin. I unzipped it and placed the folders and files in SU7>plugins. when I opened SU there were no new plugin options or tools.
I apologize, I believe i posted this question in the wrong thread. I posted in the correct location specific to my problem, but any suggestions are still appreciated -
