Peeps, I designed a sailboat swing for my son and need to take it back apart so I can sew it. I know how to sew from a pattern. Is there an easy way to make a pattern from my design? Is there a single plugin that I can use to make this as painless as possible? I can attach the SU file if it would help. I've attached a screen grab.

      Some other info:
-The bottom portion will be stuffed with bean bag foam
-The material used will be heavy weight nylon (think duffel bag material.)
-Most of the faces were made with the soap/skin/bubble plugin.

Sorry if this is a dumb question. I am new to SU.

        Nice project Silverleaf,

I don't know much about sewing or pattern making but imagine it would be a good idea to simplify the planes so that you have just a small number of pieces to cut. Once this is done you could use one of the commercial or free apps to produce the pieces / shapes and then scale them up on a grid.

I imagine that some unfold tool would help in that task. Did find this related topic http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=29415&p=257378

            Update.

After getting some advice from Fredo6 I went back to the drawing board on this. I stared at the wall for a few hours thinking before I came up with a technique to take any sphere or ellipsoid cut it into panels and easily unfold it (shown below). I'm unfolding everything now and will lay it all out to make a sewing pattern.

            Thanks gang.
