Is it a bug?

When exporting to Kerky or saving complex smoothed geometry every once in a while I get random edges that become visible. usually if I'm working on the project I can just "undo" and the edges will disappear again, for whatever reason, but this time I saved the project and wound up with thousands of visible edges. I can't "undo" on a loaded project as there is no history.
Is there any way to get rid of these edges in on shot? What causes this problem? It's a minor chore to have to re-smooth everything, but a bit of a pain nonetheless...

I know that problem that SketchUp "forgets" hidden/smoothed edges. It's annoying.
Unfortunately I don't know a fix. It happened to me only in huge models and I decided to correct it only when it was absolutely finished. It also happens to the exported version to Kerkythea. Especially evil if you rely on the "wireframe" procedural (that shouldn't show on smoothed edges).
