i found that and it looks very cool.

http://woodgears.ca/gear_cutting/template.htmlis there a generator for sketchup which can do something like that? so you can test a complex disposal of gears with "sketchyphysics".

the place where i get my fillet ruby from has a gear plugin for sketchup.. i've never used it and i don't know if it will help you or not but it's worth a look..
