I've been wondering whether there's any performance gain by assigning SU to a single core (this can be done in the task manager - right click the SU process and set affinities).

So I did a modified cubic ball array test posted elsewhere on the forum. To stress the system to ensure Turbo Boost kicked in, the array was increased 64x (4x4x4). And Tmonitor was used to make sure Turbo Boost was in fact kicking in. The result - assigning SU to a single core made absolutely no difference to the score. And Tmonitor showed that Turbo Boost was used much less when SU was unassigned - which if correct means less heat.

In case anyone is wondering, my score was 1.9 sec. with shadows turned off.

You understand that sketchup is a single thread app right? If you do then you're talking about stuff out of my league

Just some stuff I do with Sketchup.
