      Hi everyone,
I'm new here and pretty new to SU.
I've got the newest free version--7.1.6860.

When I use "select" (by dragging) I don't get any type of selection box. I know this is like I'm used to in AutoCad--click and drag to left to select all items touched, to the right to select only those within box. Can do the selecting, but it can be hard to see what I'm getting.
I've seen it in some tutorials. Can't find any way to turn it on. Is it under a different name?

Also find it hard to select items on one side of a model without selecting stuff on the other side. Was trying to make a back window a component and kept getting the front door. Is there a way to keep from doing that (other than selecting every little bit of geometry)?

Thanks so much for the help.

        Hi Lynn,

This definitely sounds like some video subsystem issue. What video card do you have? (Hope not some Intel integrated chipset...)

To test this out, go to your Window menu in SU > Preferences > OpenGL settings and disable hardware acceleration. If this "seems" to help, you should either update your video driver or if you do not have a decent, fully OpanGL compliant card, get one.

In older SU versions, there was a "Correct reverse picking driver bug" option there, two, which couldbe good for your second issue but that was for some old (nowadays rare) video cards.

        Gai...
