So I'm working on a model and one thing I like to do is model just one half of my project, typically the left half, then copy the half, paste it into the window, flip it, then put it together to make the full model..I have never had an issue with this..Now just today this stopped working properly. When I copy an item..any item..and paste it back into sketchup, the pasted item/group/component is pasting in rolled 90 degrees on the green axis and 90 degrees on the red axis vs. pasting back in in the same axis position of the copied group. What the heck is going on? I tried resetting the main axis which did nothing. I notice when I make the copied group a component, the axis of the new component is not aligned to the master axis and is rolled 90 as described above...I'm going out of my mind with this...

Anybody have any ideas? How do I reset the copy/paste axis?

EDIT: I found the problem, though I don't really understand it...I'm using a 2D template to model off of that is behind the model..If I copy the model without making sure I select only the model without any of the template things work normally...weird..

Just a tip, lock the 2D template so you can't select it.
