Reverse face and texture

NT: sometimes it can still be useful...
So Maximas; go to ThomThom's UV Toolkit plugin and (beside all the other useful tools included), after installing it, find a menu item (under Plugin > UV Toolkit) like "Front face to back face" and "Back face to front face" (depending what you want to swap).
This is useful when you export to certain rendering apps where there are double sided materials and you may have different ones on the two faces.

i think the question may be. if you inadvertently or acquire a model with back faces painted instead of front, is there a process or plugin to reverse faces and have the material applied the front faces as one procedure? sure would be handy specially for 3Dwarehouse models.

Sorry, Gaieus, I don´t quite get it. Are you referring to single plane surfaces?

In some render engines (like V-ray as far as I know) it is not indifferent to paint non solid faces on both sides.

I assume that placing a material on a back face is never the best idea. But I still do not understand
the "useful" part. What kind of "usefulness" did you have in mind? -
Just what I wrote above. Useful for some other apps that can make use of "double sided" materials.
But when for instance you are modelling some plants in SU and painting the same material on both sides of the faces that will serve as leaves, it again sounds like a good idea.

As far as I know, no. Only transparent glass should look okay from both sides (previously even window glasses had to be made thick).
V-ray as I wrote above. But I do not use V-ray and all I know about this is that Thom made some of his plugins to make use of this feature in Vray.
