Sketchup - render - photoshop

I was just wondering how many of you use photoshop for more than just "cleaning" up an image.

It sometimes seems easier to make the finished image using a photoshopped sky, grass, trees etc, than spending so much time working the lighting / grass/ sky / colors in a rendering app.

If you do use photoshop for more than cleanup, blurs, etc, I would really like to see some final presentation images.

I don't think I could do without PS to be honest. I usually add groundcover, sky, background vegetation and 2d people in post. But apart from that, PS is very important for me to get the contrast, bloom, (un)sharpness, vignetting, saturation etc just right.

flipya that is a great before and after! The light looks perfect.

I started this thread because I have been trying very hard to do everything in my 3d render app and I finally realized that I could finish an image faster with a little PS. (which I am trying to learn)

Thanks for posting your house, it is a great example of how to use ps to get a cool final product!

I dont think I have ever used an image without some post processsing.I normally add all vegetation,people cars etc as well as usually replacing the sky.The image would also have colour,saturation,levels etc altered in photoshop.Without a doubt,the end result is always much better than what I would get directly from Vray.It is also much faster.Below are 2 final images along with the original render from vray.

Attached are 2 more images,the first the original from VRAY.Post processing is a must with night shots in order to get the correct tone overall.As you can see in my night shots I like to ramp up the colour saturation considerably and I always try to get as much contrast between the internal lighting and the external lighting.

I can see that PS has to become a bigger part of my working skills.
