Content-Aware Fill for Free with Gimp?
-
Hi Guys,
I don't use photoshop. When I need to do some graphics work I use either Canvas X or Acorn. However I was very impressed with CS5's Content-Aware feature.
As I had no intention of getting CS5 I started looking around for a Mac 'Content-Aware Fill' stand alone application and I found this article, Get Adobe Photoshop CS5 Amazing Content-Aware Fill Feature Now And That Too For Free
here http://www.megaleecher.net/Gimp_Resynthesizer The comments were mixed however.I know a few of you use Gimp and was wondering if you have tied out Resynthesizer? If so I would be very intersted to hear your thoughts.
The link for Resynthesizer is, http://www.logarithmic.net/pfh/resynthesizer/history and a Mac revsion of Gimp can be found here, http://www.gimp.org/macintosh/
Looking forward to any comments.
Mike

frankly i don't know if i didn't spend enough time with it but i didn't really find Content-Aware Fill that amazing. i'm going to try the same photo through cs4 and cs5 tomorrow and see if there's really that much difference. i'll post my results.

Thanks Rocky. I use Canvas X in Mac to get rid of unwanted stuff with the stamp tool. I would like a stand alone Mac app to do total (clean) Content-Aware Fill. I think there may be a market niche there for some company. I notice over the past number of years there are companies producing 'one function' apps and they are selling well.
