Advice for using other input devices?

Yes, I know, the three-button, scroll-wheel mouse is universally recommended.
However, I am quite taken with my four-button plus scroll-wheel Kensington TurboMouse, which is actually a very large, very smooth trackball. I use it with my left hand and use a 12"x12" Wacom drawing surface with my right. This is a fantastic combo for Photoshop, Illustrator, and any number of other graphics applications.
However, I have yet to discover how best to adapt either of these to SketchUp. Should I just give in and buy a three-button mouse? Or can I somehow map all the power I have in those two devices into SketchUp somehow? It isn't clear how to do so... not in the Preferences.

Does the turbomouse work with sketchup? Have you tried it out yet? I use a space navigator from 3Dconnexion in my left hand and a 3 button mouse in the right. I don't know why a turbomouse wouldn't work just as well as long as Kensington are providing the drivers for sketchup or other 3D CAD.
I can't see the benefit of the Wacom tablet in SU in the same way as it rocks for photoshop etc. but others might have more experience here...
I can see the benefit of having a hand free for holding a cup of tea though. -
I use a tablet for production CAD, but a mouse for everything else. The tablet is of limited value for SU unless I write a custom template. The tablet pen has the ability to be programed as a 3 button mouse, but must be put down when reaching for the keyboard. Never played with a 3d mouse, guess old habits die hard:-) I knew old timers that would only interface with a keyboard and were just as productive as I with a custom tablet.

Hi folks.
The Space Navigator is a usefull device. I can pan, zoom and orbit with my left hand while I add details with the right hand.
Just ideas.
