The problem I am trying to solve is working with a person that I rarely see in person who is a visual person.
I would like for both of us to connect to a Sketchup design and both be able to view it at the same time. The document could be hosted on GoogleDocs or GoogleWave.
Editing can either be done via passing an "edit token" back and forth or both editing at the same time. There would also need to be some camera commands like: clone view and follow view.
Replay could work in some cases, but would involve me trying to anticipate his questions, which often I am not able to do.

You can do something very similar in Skype.
Once you have Skype set up there is an option to "share".
If you click on this option it will ask you if you wish to share the selection or full screen.
If you select full screen then the person you are connected to can see all of your settings, mouse movements etc. Now you can't see both screens (yours and the person you are connected to) at once, but you can switch back and forth in seconds, and of course you have live audio so that you can discuss the project as you work.
It works really well.
We have also used "Go To" meetings for doing this. The advantage to Go To was you can assign the control of your screen to the person you are connected to, and they can then manipulate your computer. We used this for and AutoCad one to one seminar, and although it worked well the AutoCad techie had to do all the set up, and it was quite convoluted. The Skype option is very simple. -
YuuGuu:

I've used Adobe Connect Now to screen share and control another screen.
Lots of options are better
