[Request] Textures applied to Scaled Group or Components
-
If a component or group is not uniformly scaled in all 3 axis directions ("stretched") then a texture which is applied to to the "shell" of the component or group is stretched as well.
Could a DESKEW TEXTURE MAPPING ruby be written in such a way to correct a texture applied to a scaled component or group so it is not "deformed" (basically what you'd see if the component or group wase manually edited and the texture was applied directly to each surface).
Perhaps there could also be custom Paint Bucket tool that would do this automatically when painting a texture?

If you would accept that the material was applied to the faces inside.
That would off-course also mean what you would not be able to have instances of different scaling. They would have to be unique.
Reason for this is that the only way to set UV mapping is directly onto faces. No control over UV mapping for materials applied to groups/components.

If it would not take much coding/time could we try a protype (would want the edges to remain the "default" color)?
I've got Rick Wilson's script to remove all colors from a selection so it would easy to reverse the process.
