I'm an interior Design Student using a Macbook OSX 10.4 and need to find an easy program to make my sketchup modeling more "presentation ready". Which one do you suggest? I tried using Podium and their trial version and I wasn't able to use this since the trial version only lets you render the image very small. =( I also tried Kerkythea and I don't have all the things it needed to download on a mac (like the Mac Install/restore disc for X11)
Thank you for your thoughts and suggestions!

No such thing. Typically its what you get used to first working with 🙂

This is like asking "Which one is the best language in the world?"

Most of my friends will say it's Spanish and will talk for several minutes about how rich and diverse Spanish is, and how you can easily express any idea and how English is so limited and blah blah blah...

They also frequenly say that we Guayaquileans speak the "correct Spanish" and people from the rest of the country and the rest of the Americas speak with an accent and use weird words and yada yada yada...

After trying to reason with them for a moment, I usually end up just rolling my eyes hearing such nonsense. 😒

From my point of view Kerkyhea is the best free renderer for Sketchup...
But, if you have problem with Mac Install, you should take a look to complete version of Podium... which has the nicer learning curve I ever met... You simply put the setting on noisy setting... then let the computer turn during the night, and come back with some beautifull pics like this.
              rendered with podium, noisy setting
But really, what Ecuadorian said is right, it's depend of how you are rendering...

              • Artlantis for example is more complex to handle but could give you nice pics and beautifull artificial light really fast.
              • Radiance can give you accurate rendering with lux isolines.
              • Maxwell is expensive but can give you the nicer render I ever seen.
              • V-ray is a biased render but really powerfull...

Just choose one, or two, and learn them, depending of the compatibility with MAC, the licensing price, and the way you want to use it.

I preferred Twightlight render. Very easy to learn and quite affordable.
