      Thanks Gaieus,
I think the answer to your query is yes. When I load the data the ruby requests the selection of a point object in the dialog box. If I select Construction point the program runs fine. If however I select a predefined component from the list the program stalls with a message "Adding point 1/ 5262". Hope this clarifies my problem. If there's a way of exchanging all the construction points automatically for a component that would get round the problem.

        Hi,
I think this is a new problem due to v7. I must look into it...

            Hi,
I have followed the procedure as given in the pdf document. However when I import the example data file, everything seems to be ok till it asks for the origin. When I click on a point (in this case the origin), it just makes a small square symbol and nothing else happens. I am running Sketchup 7.1. Any suggestions?
            Thanks.

              Hi JK,

What if you are relatively far from the origin? Try to zoom in (or zoom extent; Shift+Z)

                Hi Gaieus,
I tried zooming in, but did not see the data. Actually, the status bar says 3989 points to load, but then it does change the status to "Adding point x/t" as the tutorial states. The status simply changes to "Pick a point for points cloud origin". That is why I think no data is loaded. I hope this provides some clues to the problem I am facing. Can the Sketchup version be the problem? I just downloaded it (the latest I guess V7).
                Thanks

                  Hi,
I believe I am running into this same issue. Everything seems to be fine until "Pick a point for points cloud origin". When I select a point, a small box is placed but that's all that happens. Zoom extents doesn't find any construction points.
                  Thanks,
                  Paul

Can you upload the file in question - or perhaps PM it if it's 'not for publication'... ???

I dunno guys. I have just tested the plugin on the latest SU version and it seems to work fine (true that with a very simple text file with the co-ordinates of 3 points altogether).

So as TIG suggested, could you share the data file?

Here is a simple text file originally created with excel as a CSV. For some reason I can't upload the CSV file extension, so I saved it to text. Neither the text file or the CSV file will import into sketchup.
                        Thanks,
                        Paul

Only certain 'raw' file types are allowed to be uploaded here: a .csv file needs re-sufixing or zipping...
I tested the file and it worked fine for me - imported cloud and made a surface [v7 + PC] - so... do you have the latest version and its pdf help file ?
                          http://www.crai.archi.fr/RubylibraryDepot/Ruby/em_fil_page.htm get the Cloud_v6,zip file...
