      i love the JEEP model...
and for me the lighting in your studio setup is spot on...
only crit i have would be the straight line running across, you might want to give it a round bevel, so it will give an illusion of an infinite plane, but that depends on what effect you were trying to achive with your studio setup.

Cool. What render engine? and is it HDR lighting?

@ 21D - thanks for the tips...definetly the bevel or round edges would do wonders, love to try them out. πŸ˜„

@ solo - what you guys did for the beta was awesome, the monster was an epic. πŸ‘
In fact my studio setup was a long story or used to be much of a dissapointment. 😳
Until recently I saw a couple of shots on Thea that gives me some idea how easily it could be done. πŸ˜‰

                @ Ultimatez 32 - it's studio hdr...black and white.
I do all my renders with KT unbiased.
I practice renders with Twilight, Vray, Hypershot and hopefully Thea..soon! πŸ˜‰

If these are what you call simple studio tests, I have a long way to go.
                        Excellent work.

These are awesome...my only crit is the tip of the smokestack on the right should be higher poly...or maybe there is a reversed face there...

I was about to give up on car render some weeks back. Strange?
So for this test, the studio setup yield much better result for me.
Anyway I really hope to come up sumthin more different next time. πŸ˜‰

I would definetly love to spend more time with the models.
Just render to test out a couple of lights and preset quality.
Materials and models still remain an issue. πŸ˜„

sorry...like this. i hope you don't mind....a picture says a thousand words etc

2 minute photoshop: levels, high pass filter, vertical gradient and vignette. there is some sly colour banding but it doesn't matter, i didnt bother covering it up.

its just a bit more 'punchy' now

the render is very nice to work with. πŸ‘

several ways of doing it, here is the simplest (non-destructive) method

                                          1. New Layer

                                          2. Fill with White

                                          3. Filter>Distort>Lens Correction

                                          4. Vignette (adjust the sliders)

                                          5. When happy with amount of vignette click OK/apply

                                          6. Change Blending Mode of this layer to 'Multiply'

                                          7. You can always duplicate the vignette layer to make it more heavy or reduce its opacity to lessen the effect....

                                          hunk? πŸ˜• lol
