Autofold not working as expected

So what are the rules controlling autofold? My model "grows" extra lines that don't seem right. Is this due to the radius difference that the design started with? The attached image show blue where the strange lines are added by autofold or left unfolded somehow.

To me, autofold has never really worked as desired. Often you need to manually correct/flip edges in order to get it right.
