Stretching a group to polygon surface plugin = ?

I forgot the plugin to stretch a group to a polygon surface. For instance, I want to move a 3d letter-polygon "S" to cylindrical surface, as a simple example -- I want the S to curve along the surface. I remember there was a tool for this, but I don't remember the name. Help!

I was thinking of the one by Kirill, but I don't recall its name....it deforms to a 3d shape, whereas mine only goes to 2d - for now.

Actually, I was thinking of something much older than any of these, but I think "stick groups to mesh" should work. Thanks!

I am not aware of anything older. If you can think of what it was, I'd be interested in seeing it. As far as I know, these are ground breaking plugins listed (and only scratching the surface of possiblities!).
