Hi Luis, I would be very interested to know how you did model the spring!
Great rendering, by the way; V-Ray is the best.

      Hi Carrozza,

Modelling a spring is not difficult.
I simply found the solution on Google SketchUp Warehouse. There is a lot on good stuff there.

      The link : http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=3277705e558ca6dcd0341d9d8a035ecc

Thanks a lot for pointing me to Google Warehouse: it deserves a better exploration.

You show the easiest manual method to do this, but you could use the Helix and the PipeAlongPath [or TubeAlongPath] Rubies to make it even more easily ?

May I ask if you used any scale techniques, or is this just by eye?

                        Thanks for your comments.

@stefanq : The scene has been rendered with Vray for Sketchup Trial (maybe I will buy it).
@mitcorb : I used basic forms (cylanders, cubes and curved lines).

Its so beautiful, it's a shame that it ends up on the bottom of some car. It needs to be out there!

If I make it look easy...It is probably easy
