Making your own template?'s

I read about how to make your own custom template and how to set SketchUp so it opens with this template. But no matter what I do, my template opens with the Pencil tool selected. Is there an option to change this so that when SketchUp opens it has the Select tool selected? Also, I would like the components panel to open to the In Model window rather than the Google search window.

Activates the select tool at startup and when starting a new file or opening an existing file

I really wish they'd put it back the way it was before...with the Select Tool active at startup, without the need for Rick's script. I don't know anyone who actually prefers it the way it's been for the last few releases. I hardly ever start with the pencil tool anyway...too unpredictable. I usually start with a circle or rectangle on the origin and take it from there.

And to explain your unsuccessful way to set it by the template - templates do not set the tool selected but are actually model files themselves.
