Sections That Don't Look Hollow

Maybe a dumb question but how can I view a section so that the walls, floors, etc. don't look hollow?

Welcome mpkarch. There is a plugin called SectionCutFace you can find here:
http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=1517&st=0&sk=t&sd=aIt allows you to create a "solid" look with a section cut.

I copied the file into my Plugins folder but it is not showing up after I close and re-start SketchUP.

Make your section then right click (context click) on the section itself, that is where it shows up.
