      Hi

There's still a bug that (as far as I'm aware has been known to SU for some time) won't allow an animation to be exported in 16:9 widescreen.

16:9 can be selected under Expert export animation settings, but it doesn't activate, and always defaults back to 4:3, which is extremely annoying for presentations.

File - Export - Animation - Format:-Options - Expert - Aspect ratio - Select 16:9, Click OK, return back to Expert to check, and 4:3 is selected

Not to mention that as far as I know, I am not the only one who cannot switch from the Cinepack codec to anything else.

Best is to export as image sequence anyway (better control on PP and such) maybe that's why people don't complain so much about this.

For 720P, I just export out an image sequence (.PNG) at 2560x1440.

Compile sequence and export movie at 1280x720 for nice clean sharp line work.

          Cheers, Chuck

I agree with Chuck, export as a image sequence at 2x the resolution you require, complile and batch resize for best quality smooth animations.

Hi Gai, I always assumed that after the export, the codec simply reset to the default. Is that wrong?-(

Well, to be honest, I don't know but then when I'd try with another codec (uncompressed mpeg for instance), I get the same avi all the time. So it seems that "seemingly" I can change the codec and output but it actually doesn't take any effect.

However I have never really investigated and cared too much about this (apart from reporting it as a bug) because I export my animation as image sequence as said above (either straight from SU or from a renderer which can only do this anyway)

Hmm.... Never tried to export to wide screen before, but there seems to be no problem this feature on my system. Attached is a 3 frame test avi video, that has been compressed into a wav movie.

Use the iccvid.dll bug fix, rename iccvid.dll to iccvid.dll.bak, rename lagarith.dll to iccvid.dll, all in the windows\system32 folder.

Then just us a non standard resolution for the animation ecport like 1280x480 or 1280x640 or 1280x720
