Try using an HDRI as the sole light source for these "product" renders. I used studio021.hdr from this free collection in Deviant Art (thanks to Oliver Shea for the tip).

Save the render as an .hdr and try doing some post-production in the free app Motiva RealCamera. I used it for both images.
