Hi!
Some cool panoramas also here http://www.panoramas.dk/index.html
And how do you actually export panoramas from SU? -
I think Sketchup cannot, but Kerkythea can render cylindrical/spherical projections. I have to try this out, because I just found a really great program for photo panoramas, Hugin (freeware).
-
Yes, Kerkythea (and Twilight) can. I tweaked this in Twilight and then finally rendered with Kerkythea (and damn, I forgot to invert the bump map on the floor tile - really annoying after a couple of hours of rendering - the original is 4000x2000 pixel but it's too huge for an upload here):
-
Am I missing something or you did mention several ways of exporting SU panoramas?
I would really like to know something more about that. -
Well, the above is a SU model which I started to render in SU, with the Twilight plugin but eventually decided to export it to Kerkythea instead as it handles high poly better than SU (which needs to run in order to keep Twilight running).
Here is an "older version" (rendering wise) into a QuickTime Virtual Reality panorama
http://news.sketchucation.com/faces-behind-sketchup-tommy-acierno/This can be set up by a plugin in SU called "cubicpanoout.rb" and found here:
http://www.crai.archi.fr/RubyLibraryDepot/Ruby/em_fil_page.htmIt creates 6 scenes in SU viewing the six sides of a virtual cube from inside. Then export the images and stitch them together with GoCubic:
http://www.panoguide.com/howto/display/gocubic.jspBut I like these spherical outputs better and there are a bunch of panorama viewers and even for websites that can handle them.
-
OK guys, here is a "live" panorama of the above image:
http://www.gaieus.hu/Panoramas/Carmelite/
(I left some "easter eggs" in there for you guys)
It was made with the free "Flash VR Player" thank to a Japanese guy I should send a nice email (just cannot figure out his name).
-
Wow, so much to learn in one lifetime... I´d better just stick to modeling for now.
BTW, how about that beer before we grow too old? -

Sounds good. I am pretty broke at the moment to even travel to the other end of the city but once I put my hand on my girlfriend's salary, we can talk about it (unless you are travelling here)
-
Well, I wouldn´t want to be intrusive, or spam the forum, but feel free to PM me - I guess it could be a bit easier than in the Japanese dude case.
A colleague of mine travels there quite often, so maybe I could keep her company (that is if my wife doesn´t get too jealous).
We´ll work something out, I guess. -
Well, this is the Corner bar so nothing can be really Off-Topic.
Let me know when your colleague is travelling again and we can set up a nice drink or two.
-
I´m looking forward to it. A drink or two sounds very good indeed. Plus I´ve never been to Pecs before.
Do I get something to eat as well? -
a good lard sandwich with raw onion?
-
With a bit of paprika on it? Schmeckt gut ja?
BTW, isn´t that what you call zsíroskenyér or something like that? -

Exactly

Even more exactly
(I know many of our fellow members here would be disgusted to even think about spreading raw lard on a slice of bread but it's a good thing to eat with wine
)
-
Yummy. Well, until then...

-
Hi Pg,
Are you up to join us?
(Although I seem to be confused about your current location)
-
Pirosarany? Isn´t that actually a paprika paste?
-
-
Ah, c***p, just got informed that my colleague is not planning to travel until spring.
So I guess we´ll have ourselves a merry little Christmas first.
Unless you lay your hands on your girlfriend´s salary before that?
